Report on Vet Fencing Clinic Feb 16, Ottawa

Ten daring souls, a few of whom had never fenced before came to the Clinic led by coach Parviz Haghandish and coach Pat Fournier, who assisted.  There were equal numbers of sabeurs, foilists, and epeeists.  Parviz led us off with useful tips on good fencing stance, good arm positioning and three distances for effective parries; then we fenced mixed weapon teams!  Each team was made up of two people who fence different weapons, for example, an epeeist and foilist, who fence another team with the same disciplines.  Strategy and defence were key!  The time went by very fast, and there were requests for another similar clinic.  Next time we will try to plan for longer time!  Thanks very much to those who came out; and to our wonderfully supportive coaches!  Pictures to follow!
